Basin Energy (ASX:BSN) Expands Scandinavian Portfolio with Trollberget Licence Grant in Arvidsjaur-Arjeplog Uranium District

Jane Morgan Management < 1 mins read

Basin Energy Limited (ASX:BSN) ("Basin" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the Trollberget exploration licence has been successfully granted by the Swedish Government, significantly expanding the Company's footprint in Northern Sweden’s Arvidsjaur-Arjeplog uranium district.

Highlights

  • Expansion:

    • Trollberget project licence has been granted, adding 116km² of highly-prospective uranium and green energy metals ground.

    • Basin Energy’s total landholding in the district now doubles to 219km².

  • Geological Prospectivity:

    • Located between Basin’s Björkberget and Rävaberget projects.

    • Potential for extensions of known structural controls and mineralisation.

  • Exploration Update:

    • Initial geochemistry results from Björkberget and Rävaberget expected in Q1.

    • 2024 fieldwork at Virka, Björkberget and Rävaberget included outcrop mapping, reconnaissance sampling, and logistical access reviews.

Commenting on the news, Basin’s Managing Director, Pete Moore stated: “Basin is excited to have had its application for the Trollberget project approved and commends the relevant authorities for the rapid processing time.

The field identification of structural controls at Björkberget, which disappear under a thin glacial cover provide a compelling narrative for the prospectivity of the Trollberget project. Historic exploration work was heavily restricted to outcrop and the potential for further hidden mineralisation beneath this thin cover is interpreted to be very high.”
