Celebrating our blue oceans at the Australian National Maritime Museum this March

Throughout March, the Australian National Maritime Museum will be celebrating a month of blue water as host of a variety of events and activations promoting ocean conservation and preservation.

The Museum will be taking part in the Ocean Lovers Festival, Earth Hour, and celebrating World Water Day, Sea Week and Clean Up Australia Day with a series of events and activations which make up this exciting Month of Blue dedicated to providing a greater understanding of Australia’s blue harbour heart, waterways and coast.

With onsite, offsite and online events available for people of all ages, there are so many ways to get involved with this exciting program and learn more about how to best help our ocean.

NAB shareholders owning $9.74bn in shares call on the bank to do better on deforestation

Investors owning $9.74 billion of shares in Australia’s largest agribusiness bank have backed a resolution calling on NAB to disclose deforestation linked to its lending.* The resolution on disclosure of financed deforestation, facilitated by the Australian Conservation Foundation and co-filed by SIX, Australian Ethical, Melior Investment Management, was supported by 13.98% of shares voted at NAB’s AGM today. Droughts lasting longer across Australia, study shows

A studytracking not only the forces that drive drought but the damage it leaves behind has revealed that droughts have lasted longer in Australia in recent decades, especially in areas with the most people and farms.
