Marmota Limited (ASX:MEU) Extends Titanium Discovery West with 100% Leucoxene Confirmation

24 February 2025 – Perth, Australia | Marmota Limited (ASX:MEU) (“Marmota” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that 100% leucoxene, which is a high-value titanium mineral (TiO₂), has been identified in all observed Heavy Mineral (HM) concentrate samples from historical drill holes that are located immediately west of Marmota’s Muckanippie Titanium Heavy Mineral Sands Discovery site.

This discovery extends the potential strike length of the Muckanippie titanium discovery to 9 kilometers.

Highlights

  • Historical drill samples confirm high-grade titanium mineralisation on site:

    • 100% leucoxene observed in all HM concentrate samples.

    • Samples originate from two Flinders Mines Ltd (now Red Hawk Mining Ltd ASX:RHK) drill holes on tenement EL6679, which is now 100%-owned by Marmota.

  • Strategic Expansion of the Titanium Discovery:

    • The latest discovery now extends Marmota’s titanium-heavy mineral sands potential 9km lenght along strike.

    • This confirmed leucoxene-rich mineralisation further validates the palaeochannel’s potential.

  • Significant Historical Drill Results:

    • Hole FCGDH-019 (15–19m): 100% Leucoxene

    • Hole FCGDH-020 (27–30m): 100% Leucoxene

    • The distance between the two holes is 277m reinforcing the lateral extent of the mineralisation.

  • Leucoxene’s High-Value Applications:

    • A premium titanium dioxide (TiO₂) mineral, which is essential for industries like aerospace, medicine, creating pigments, and even battery industries. 

    • Recognised and classified globally as a “critical mineral”. 

Marmota’s Titanium Discovery Progression

  • January 2025: 

    • Bonanza-grade heavy mineral (HM) assays confirmed at Muckanippie (EL6166), featuring high TiO₂ grades over thick intervals from the surface​.

  • February 2025: 

    • Marmota expanded drilling westward following strong visual indications of heavy mineral sands​.

  • Now/Today: 

    • Historical data confirms 100% leucoxene to west, significantly increasing the scale of Marmota’s discovery​.
