Re: Major Announcement by the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular
This Monday February 17 at 10am at the Beaudesert Showgrounds, one of Queensland’s most loved events in the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular, will make a special announcement about this year’s event.
- Billy, Bluey & Bobby - three magnificent Clydesdale Harness Horses in full harness from Teviot Clydesdales. Media can shoot and film from on the wagon. The three horses are pretty tight lipped, however their carers Terry O’Brien & Carmel Clair from Teviot Clydesdales have been attending the event for all 13 years of its existence and are happy to speak on their behalf.
- Two Beaudesert State High students studying Ag and Equine Studies as well as some little ‘Clydie’ fans!

- Whipcracker and whips (a new event for this year will be the World Whip Plaiting Championships) and the prestigious sashes that are competed for
About the Spectacular:
- The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular is the richest Clydesdale Show in the Southern Hemisphere.
- It will be held on the weekend of June 14 and 15.
- From tiny Shetland ponies to the towering Shire horses, all Clydesdales great and small are celebrated at the event. Over two days, the grand champions of the breed, known as the Gentle Giants of the horse world, are judged, the heritage of the breed is shared, and the history of the breed in Australia is celebrated.
- Giant horses mean giant wins for the region. In 2024 the event generated 11,284 visitor nights, with total overnight expenditure valued at $2,017,506 by Tourism & Events Queensland.
