Return and Earn has launched an innovative “takes all” trial that has transformed how many Orange residents recycle eligible drink containers.

No more pre-sorting of containers – you can now return all your eligible containers through any chute at our updated machines, making it faster to return and earn the 10c refund for every container.

The upgrades have been made to the following Return and Earn machines:

  • Return and Earn Woolworths North Orange Earn machine located in the car park at the North Orange Shopping Centre at 9 Telopea Way, North Orange. Open daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm.

  • Return and Earn Centre Orange located at 123 Endsleigh Avenue, Orange. Open Monday to Saturday from 7:00am to 7:00pm and Sunday from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

“Residents in the Orange local government area are already enthusiastic recyclers, having returned more than over 87 million eligible bottles, cans and cartons through local return points since the scheme began,” said James Dorney, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, network operator for Return and Earn.

“These improvements to local return points will make it even easier and quicker to return your eligible bottles and cans and pocket the refund,” Mr. Dorney said.

Recyclers can still print a voucher for the refund amount, which can be redeemed for cash at Woolworths, or they can opt for an e-voucher or payment directly into their bank or PayPal account using the Return and Earn app.

Return and Earn has become a key fundraising channel for many charities and community groups in NSW. Over $72 million has been raised from donations and fees from hosting return points since the scheme launched in 2017.

Locals can choose to donate their refund to one of over 300 donation partners listed on the Return and Earn app or to the current statewide donation partner Foodbank NSW & ACT.The food relief charity provides much needed food assistance to individuals and families across NSW and the ACT.

Incredibly, 13 billion drink containers have been returned for recycling through the network of over 650 return points across NSW since Return and Earn began, resulting in over $1.3 billion in container refunds back in people’s pockets.

“I encourage everyone in the region to continue to make Return and Earn a part of your routine. Together, we are all contributing to a more sustainable future, where the materials that our bottles, cans and cartons are made of are kept in use and out of landfill.” said Mr. Dorney.
