100,000 Australians Demand Facts, Not Fear in Nuclear Debate

Nuclear for Australia < 1 mins read

Nuclear for Australia has announced that over 100,000 Australians have now signed a petition calling for the legalisation of nuclear power, marking a significant shift in public sentiment toward evidence-based energy policy.

This milestone reflects growing frustration with Australia's outdated prohibition on nuclear energy while countries worldwide embrace it as a clean, reliable power source.

"Australians are tired of distractions and misinformation," said Will Shackel, Founder of Nuclear for Australia. "The rest of the world is moving fast on nuclear, building a cleaner, more reliable energy future, while we're left arguing over outdated fears instead of embracing the facts."

The petition's success comes as Australia faces mounting challenges with energy costs and grid reliability. Nuclear power—widely used across Europe, North America, and Asia—offers a proven solution that is emissions-free, safe, and capable of providing consistent baseload power.

Nuclear for Australia is calling on policymakers to respond to this clear public mandate by initiating a science-driven conversation about including nuclear energy in Australia's future energy mix.

"Over 100,000 signatures show that people want nuclear power on the table as a practical solution for Australia's energy needs," added Shackel. "The time for fear is over—it's time for facts."
