Australian Duoetto Gen 3 Water Heater selected by SDG in world RV capital

Aus J Hot Water Solutions 2 mins read

Australian RV, marine, and specialist electric hot water pioneer Aus J has scored a breakthrough entry into the centre of the North American RV market with its latest digitally switchable 12V-to-mains Duoetto Gen 3 compact water heater.

SDG, a North American leader in HVAC Solutions for RVs and specialty vehicles, has joined the Aus J network and is now distributing the Duoetto Gen 3 12V/120V water heater to manufacturers and fitout companies seeking clean, cost-efficient, and innovative solutions.

The 2.65-US gallon (10-litre) Duoetto Gen 3 – and the complementary original Duoetto 12V/240V model sold in Australia and internationally – can also be used in compact building industry applications including tiny homes and off-grid structures.

“The Duoetto Gen 3 is the perfect complement to our advanced DC-powered Air Conditioning systems. Designed for off-grid and hybrid setups, it delivers superior efficiency, reliability, and seamless integration,” says SDG President Kevin Searer, whose company’s distribution network extends nationally from its headquarters in Elkhart Indiana.

Elkhart is known as the RV Capital of the World, a region where more than 80% of the world's RVs are made. The area's skilled workforce, central location, and manufacturing strength have contributed to its status. Elkhart is home to RV manufacturers, including Winnebago, THOR Industries, and Jayco.

The Duoetto Gen 3 heater automatically switches between 12V and 120V, features digital controls, and is compatible with major US RV systems like Firefly Integrations. Ideal for RVs, yachts, work trucks, and even emergency and catering vehicles, it’s built for durability and energy efficiency, says Kevin Searer.

“Duoetto Gen 3 is the world’s first 12V/120V water heater with optional remote control, providing on-demand hot water without requiring both gas and electricity – a game-changer for mobile and marine applications,” says Searer.

Duoetto Gen 3 is the product of a research, engineering, and development programme by Aus J to get the 12V/120V Duoetto Gen 3 approved to the UL 174 Standard critical to success in the US market, where it is being positioned to emulate the existing Australian and international success of the complementary Duoetto 12V/240V product.

Jay King, Managing Director of Aus J, says the product responds to growing demand from RV adventurers moving toward sustainable travel. “This new generation of travelers prioritises energy-efficient solutions that align with the global shift from fossil fuels to electric power.”

The Australian-designed and internationally manufactured and distributed series of Duoetto 10-litre water heaters is a big win for Australian engineering, says Jay King. “Many sceptics told us our concept of switchable 12V-to-mains electric water heaters could not be done, but now our Australian designs are succeeding around the world, including in the world capital of RV production.”
