Set against the stunning backdrop of Tasmania’s untouched wilderness, guests can embark on a fascinating journey into the world of fungi, guided by expert mycologist Alison Pouliot and renowned photographer Luke O’Brien.

These eco-friendly retreats allow visitors to discover the region's rich fungal diversity, featuring species that can only be found in this remote corner of the world. The packages, designed to cater to both budding and experienced nature lovers, include guided fungi walks, photography workshops, and an immersive experience in the heart of the Tarkine rainforest.

Fungus Photography with Luke O’Brien – June 2025

From May 31 to June 3, 2025, the “Fungus Photography” package offers a three-night stay at Corinna Wilderness Village, where participants will join talented Tasmanian photographer Luke O’Brien. Renowned for his captivating images of Tasmania’s fungi, O’Brien will teach guests how to capture the essence of these mysterious organisms. Over the course of three days, attendees will learn practical tips on camera settings, composition, and focus techniques while exploring the many trails surrounding Corinna during the peak of fungi season. There will also be an opportunity to edit and refine photographs in a group post-processing session.

Discover Fungi with Alison Pouliot – June 2025

From June 3 to June 6, 2025, the “Discover Fungi with an Expert Mycologist” package invites guests to explore the wonders of the fungal kingdom with renowned mycologist Alison Pouliot. Pouliot, an expert in the ecology and cultural significance of fungi, will guide participants on interactive walks through the Tarkine Rainforest, offering insights into the crucial ecological role fungi play in this vibrant ecosystem. Attendees will uncover the fascinating biology, cultural connections, and environmental importance of fungi in hands-on seminars and rainforest forays.
