From Game Day to Runway: HoMie teams up with the AFL for the ultimate footy fashion

Tide Communications 2 mins read

Footy meets fashion – there’s no better way to capture the essence of Melbourne.

Homegrown label HoMie has teamed up with the Australian Football League (AFL) for a limited-edition streetwear collection that brings a fresh, stylish twist to classic game-day gear – HoMie x AFL Club Knits.

With the AFL season kicking off this week, the Club Knits are the ultimate way to show club colours this season. This collection is designed to be worn on game day and beyond – a true fusion of iconic footy culture and streetwear style.

Featuring all 18 AFL clubs, this collection of oversized, boxy-fit knits (crafted from 100% cotton) blends iconic club colours with a playful squiggle design, offering a bold yet comfortable piece that is perfect to throw on at the stadium, the pub, or anywhere in between. As always, 100% of profits go towards HoMie’s mission to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship.

“HoMie and the AFL both pride ourselves on community and connection, and this collaboration is no different. 100% of profits from the HoMie AFL Club Knits support our mission to combat homelessness. Our knits give fans the opportunity to wear their team with pride, knowing their purchase helps make a real difference,” said Marcus Crook, Co-Founder and Creative Director of HoMie.

The journey to this collaboration with the AFL started years ago, but the timing had to be just right. With HoMie’s signature knits already a cult favourite, this collection feels like a natural evolution.

Dropping online on 6 March, these knits are extremely limited – once they’re gone, they’ll go straight onto pre-order, with product expected to ship in May.

To celebrate the drop, the HoMie x AFL Club Knits will be making their debut on the

Block Party Runway x Melbourne. Every Bit Different at the 2024 PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Taking to the runway will be some of the AFL and AFLW’s most beloved players, proudly repping their club knits. Last year’s runway ended with the audience storming the stage, and this year promises to bring the same energy. With a lineup of some of Australia’s most exciting emerging designers, this show will be a celebration of culture, creativity, and club colours like never before.

The limited-edition HoMie x AFL Club Knits will be available online at HoMie from Thursday, 6th March at homie.com.au.
