Humanity First Queensland Mobilises Volunteers Ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred

Humanity First Queensland < 1 mins read

With Tropical Cyclone Alfred expected to impact South East Queensland in the coming days, government officials have issued a high alert for severe weather conditions.

In response, Humanity First Queensland has swiftly mobilised volunteers to assist the community in preparing for the storm. Over the past two days, 50 volunteers have helped fill and stack more than 1,000 sandbags, loading them onto 40 trucks to aid flood protection efforts.

Humanity First Queensland continues to monitor the situation closely and remains in direct contact with the Logan Mayor, council officials, and MPs. The organisation stands ready to assist wherever needed as the cyclone approaches.

The average premium increase for 2026 of 4.41% is lower than the rising cost of providing medical and hospital services, which rose 5 per cent last financial year. “More people are using their health insurance for high-cost hospital care such…

Australian Gun Safety Alliance convenor and Alannah & Madeline Foundation advocacy advisor Stephen Bendle said: “The Queensland Premier this week claimed to be strengthening gun laws, but the truth is that these reforms only enforce tougher penalties once a crime has already been committed. Alarmingly, some of his statements directly repeat the rhetoric of the firearm industry. “Every other jurisdiction is considering significant reform such as restricting the type of weapons that were used…
