***MEDIA ALERT*** Interview opportunity at Tamworth GP Clinic

Royal Australian College of GPs NSW/ACT Chair, Dr Rebekah Hoffman, and local GP, Dr Ian Kamerman, are available for interviews.

Dr Hoffman is visiting the New England region to listen to GPs, practice team members and patients about local general practice care, what is working well, and where more support is needed.

The RACGP NSW/ACT Chair will speak about the positive steps that government can and should take to help boost rural general practice care, including increasing rural GP registrar numbers.

When: Tuesday 25 March 2025

Time: 1pm

Where: NorthWest Health, Level 1, 279B Marius Street, Tamworth.

Note: TV crews and photographers are welcome to take photos and footage inside the clinic, including Dr Hoffman talking to local GPs and practice team member staff.

Fish oil supplement halves serious cardiovascular events in patients on dialysis

A daily fish oil supplement has been shown to significantly reduce serious cardiovascular events in people receiving dialysis for kidney failure. The findings come from a major international clinical trial co-led in Australia by Monash Health and the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash University. The PISCES trial involved 1,228 participants across 26 dialysis sites in Australia and Canada.
