New Bike-Share Parking trial for North Sydney

North Sydney Council < 1 mins read
  • Media:

North Sydney Council has endorsed 50 new designated parking locations across North Sydney CBD, Crows Nest, St Leonards and Milsons Point for rideshare bikes.

Mayor Zoë Baker says: “Starting next month, this trial will improve safety and reduce obstructions caused by share bikes. By having designated parking areas, we will reduce clutter and keep footpaths safe for pedestrians.”

Council is working with Transport for NSW and bike-share operators to implement the trial. It includes geofencing around specific locations and line markings visually identifying parking locations.

Funding for this trial will be allocated from the Active Transport Facilities Budget with Council also seeking funding from e-bike providers. A progress report will be provided to Council within six months of the trial start.
