New Family First Ad Exposes the Truth Behind Soaring Power Bills

Family First Party < 1 mins read

Family First has launched a hard-hitting new ad campaign exposing the real reason families are being smashed by rising electricity prices — and it’s not what the major parties are telling you.

Family First’s lead Senate candidate for Queensland, Katie Lush, says the Albanese Government’s promise to cut power prices by $275 has been exposed as a cruel hoax.

“Despite all the spin, families are paying more than ever — and the reason is simple: both Labor and Liberal are obsessed with the globalist net zero agenda,” Ms Lush said.

“Instead of using Queensland’s abundant coal, gas and uranium to deliver cheap, reliable energy, politicians are driving up prices by tying us to the failed Paris Agreement and flooding the grid with unreliable renewables.

“Queensland should be leading the world in energy affordability. We once were — and we can be again.”

Ms Lush said the ad is a rallying cry for Australians to reject the madness of net zero and return to energy policies that put families first.

“If emissions must come down, nuclear is the only proven way to do it while keeping the lights on. Net zero has failed — economically and scientifically. It’s time to get out of Paris and end this madness.”

The ad will be shown on smart TVs, digital platforms and streaming services in the lead-up to the next election, calling on Australians to support Family First’s campaign to restore common sense to energy policy.

Treasurer must levy big coal and gas corporations to fund climate disasters Make Big Polluters Pay

Climate disasters are projected to cost the federal budget $6.3 billion in the upcoming mid-year economic forecast this week. The Treasurer should follow public opinion and ensure coal and gas corporations responsible for most climate pollution pay for these costs, rather than forcing ordinary taxpayers to shoulder the burden, according to the Make Big Polluters Pay alliance. Climate disasters already cost the economy $38 billion each year, with households, communities, local governments and small businesses paying to recover from extreme weather. These impacts are also driving up insurance premiums, food prices and household bills. Deloitte projects disaster costs will exceed…
