FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PERTH, WA – The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Perth is set to host one of Western Australia’s biggest Iftar dinners at the Perth's Largest Nasir Mosque. The event on Sunday 16th March 2025 is expected to attract over 300 attendees.

This year’s gathering, a cornerstone of WA’s multicultural calendar, will welcome mayors, MPs, faith leaders, academics, journalists, and community champions from diverse backgrounds. The line of speakers from various backgrounds, faiths and cultural heritage will reflect on the essence of Ramadan, which is one of sacrifice, service, and solidarity

The event is not only entirely organised by volunteers but also fully funded through community contributions. Hundreds of volunteer hours and thousands of dollars in community donations have gone towards holding an event at such a scale. From site setup to cooking, every detail is handled by dedicated locals, proving that unity is not just preached—it’s practised.

For many, the event offers a first-time glimpse into Islamic traditions, with mosque tours, prayers for global peace, and heartfelt exchanges. Speaking about the event, Imam Syed Wadood Janud of Nasir Mosque noted:

"The massive interest shown by the public to attend the Iftar dinner is a testament to the power of openness. As we foster dialogue and dismantle barriers, we build bridges between communities and that is our mission.”
