Ahmadiyya Muslim Commuity Perth 2 mins read

Over 300 guests, including mayors, Members of Parliament, faith leaders, academics, journalists, community advocates and general public members, expected for an evening of unity and reflection

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PERTH, WA – The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Perth is set to host one of Western Australia’s largest interfaith Iftar dinners at Nasir Mosque, Perth’s largest mosque, on Sunday, 16 March 2025. With more than 300 attendees expected, this highly anticipated annual gathering offers a unique opportunity for Western Australians to experience the spirit of Ramadan, a month dedicated to sacrifice, service, and solidarity.

Recognised as a key event in WA’s multicultural calendar, the program will feature a diverse panel of speakers who will share reflections on Ramadan’s values and its universal message of peace and unity.

This entirely volunteer-led event is made possible through thousands of dollars in community contributions and countless hours of dedication. From cooking to event logistics, local volunteers meticulously handle every detail, demonstrating a true spirit of selfless service.

For many guests, this evening will serve as a first-time insight into Islamic traditions, including guided mosque tours, a special Ramadan prayer for global peace, and the opportunity to engage in meaningful interfaith dialogue.

Imam Syed Wadood Janud of Nasir Mosque emphasized the growing interest in the event, stating:

"The overwhelming response to our Iftar dinner reflects the power of openness and dialogue. By breaking bread together, we break down barriers, build friendships, and strengthen the social fabric of our diverse community."
