Melbourne’s northern suburbs-based building company, Plumbstruct Industries, has once again been named a finalist in the Australian Small Business Champion Awards, reaffirming its reputation as one of the nation’s top small businesses in the construction industry.

After taking home the award in 2024, Plumbstruct Industries is thrilled to be nominated for the second year in a row in the Home Renovations category. With over 5,500 entrants nationwide, the competition remains fierce, and this year, Plumbstruct Industries is one of only two Victorian businesses among the 12 national finalists in their category.

Founded by Shane and Lara Denes, Plumbstruct Industries is a family-owned business based in Coburg North that has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative, and practical solutions for home renovations and building projects. Their ability to provide in-house carpentry, plumbing, and waterproofing services—rather than relying on subcontractors—ensures a seamless experience for clients and sets them apart from competitors.

“With the building industry facing so many challenges, it’s an honour to be recognised on a national scale once again,” says Shane Denes, Director of Plumbstruct Industries. “We know how tough things are for tradies and small builders, so to be standing here two years in a row as a finalist is something we’re incredibly proud of. It’s a testament to our team’s dedication and the trust our clients put in us.”

Plumbstruct Industries is not just about building homes—it’s about building careers and communities. The company actively supports apprentices, contributes to industry scholarships, and volunteers with local organisations, reinforcing its role as a business that gives back and a business that champions it tradies.

“We believe in investing in the next generation of tradespeople,” says Shane. “Apprentices are the future of our industry, and we take pride in mentoring them to ensure they gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed.”

This recognition highlights Plumbstruct Industries’ commitment to excellence, innovation, and community impact, all of which have been key drivers behind the company’s continued success.

As the team prepares for the awards night in Sydney, Shane adds, “Last year was an incredible experience, and we’re excited to be heading back. Once again, we’re taking the boys along to celebrate their hard work and the journey we’ve been on together. Win or lose, it’s a massive achievement to be nominated again.”

The Australian Small Business Champion Awards winners will be announced at a gala event in Sydney on March 28, 2025. Whether they bring home the trophy again or not, Plumbstruct Industries has already cemented its status as a true leader in the Australian building industry.
