STEPS Garden Centre invites Sunshine Coast community to Harvest Day Autumn 2025

STEPS 2 mins read

STEPS Garden Centre is getting ready to host its upcoming free Harvest Day event on Saturday 22 March, bringing the Sunshine Coast community together to celebrate autumn, share the joys of gardening and nature, and support STEPS’ mission of creating brighter futures for young adults living with a disability and autism.

From 9am to 3pm, STEPS Garden Centre, located on Ulm Street South in Caloundra, will be home to deals on plants and gardening supplies, activities for kids, a bonsai workshop, free gardening information sessions, and much more to keep the whole family entertained.

April Heard, STEPS Garden Centre Manager, says that Harvest Day is an exciting opportunity for locals to explore the world of gardening and have fun with their loved ones while they support an important cause.

“Our previous Harvest Day was the biggest day for STEPS Garden Centre ever, and the entire team was so incredibly proud to share our passion for gardening and the ‘why’ behind our non-profit business, which is STEPS Pathways College,” Mrs Heard said.

All profits made at STEPS Garden Centre and Café on George go directly to STEPS Pathways College, a unique program designed to provide young adults with a disability and autism with the skills needed to live independently.

Cholera and Mpox cases increasing dangerously in DRC as aid cuts push health systems to near-collapse

Preventable diseases are sweeping the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Cholera cases increased by 326, Mpox by 269, and measles by 95 people in North Kivu alone, during the last week of February, according to Oxfam’s partners on the ground. Ongoing violence and USAID funding suspension is accelerating the collapse of DRC’s fragile health system, leaving millions defenseless against preventable diseases like cholera. Since…
