Leading carbon capture and removal technology provider Svante recognized on TIME and Statista’s list of the World's Top GreenTech Companies of 2025.

Leading carbon capture and removal technology provider Svante recognized on TIME and Statista’s list of the World's Top GreenTech Companies of 2025.

Selected from a pool of over 8,000 companies worldwide, Svante stands out as one of only five Canadian firms to make the list. This recognition underscores the company's significant contributions to developing innovative engineered solutions that address urgent carbon management challenges.

Claude Letourneau, President and CEO of Svante, expressed his enthusiasm about the honor: "This acknowledgment is a testament to our team's unwavering commitment to pioneering sustainable carbon capture and removal solutions. As we launch our first gigafactory in Vancouver, capable of producing enough filters to capture 10 million tonnes of CO2 annually, we're catalyzing a new era: a rewiring of the industrial sector so that it can make low carbon intensity products by leveraging our innovative technology that can stop CO2 from going into the atmosphere and equally remove it from the ambient air."

Svante's groundbreaking structured adsorbent filter technology offers industries a commercially viable and environmentally responsible solution for capturing and removing CO2 from both industrial emissions and the atmosphere (called direct air capture or DAC). The trapped CO2 can be permanently stored underground or repurposed into other products ranging from sustainable aviation fuel to industrial products and consumer goods.

The company's innovative approach has garnered attention across various sectors, including pulp & paper, cement, steel, oil & gas, and DAC. Svante was recently inducted into the Cleantech Group’s Global Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame and has also been featured on the XPRIZE’s XB100 World’s Top Deep Tech Companies list. The company’s inclusion in the World's Top GreenTech Companies of 2025 list further cements its status as a global leader in carbon management.

As Svante continues to expand its operations and optimize its unique technology, the recognition from TIME and Statista serves as a powerful endorsement of the company's vision and potential to drive significant positive change in the world’s ability to manage CO2 emissions.

Note to Libs: blocking renewables will increase power prices

In response to the Liberal Party’s announcement that it will abandon the target to reach net zero emissions by 2050, but will remain in the Paris Agreement, ACF’s national climate policy adviser Annika Reynolds (they/them) said: “Abandoning net zero by 2050 undermines the rollout of low-cost renewables and will do nothing to help Aussie families cut their power bills. “The practical effect of this announcement will be to stifle the growth of reliable renewable energy. Blocking the renewables transition will increase power prices. “The Liberals back the most expensive forms of energy – coal, gas and nuclear. “The Paris Agreement…
