Amaero Signs Exclusive A$35 Million Supply Agreement with U.S. 3D Printing Leader Velo3D

Jane Morgan Management 2 mins read

Sydney, Australia – Amaero Ltd (ASX:3DA) (“Amaero” or “the Company”) has signed a major five-year exclusive supply agreement with U.S.-based metal 3D printing pioneer Velo3D, Inc. (OTC:VLDX) (“Velo3D”), a leading manufacturer of advanced additive manufacturing technology for the aerospace, space, and defence sectors.

Under the agreement, Amaero will supply proprietary metal powders, including niobium C103 and a range of other refractory alloys such as molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten, and zirconium. Amaero will also act as a preferred supplier of titanium alloy powders. Based on Velo3D’s demand estimates, the contract is expected to deliver approximately A$35 million in revenue over the five-year period, although final figures will depend on production volumes.

Strengthening Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chains

The partnership positions Amaero as a key enabler in strengthening critical manufacturing supply chains, particularly in the U.S., at a time when defence and space industries are seeking resilient, onshore sources for mission-critical components.

As part of the agreement:

  • Velo3D will exclusively use Amaero’s C103 and refractory alloy powders for all parts production, including its Rapid Production Solutions (RPS) initiative.

  • Amaero’s powders will be offered for sale to Velo3D’s 3D printing machine customers globally.

  • Velo3D will develop proprietary print parameters tailored to Amaero’s powders across its Sapphire range of 3D printers.

Importantly, the deal supports Amaero’s broader strategy to expand its advanced manufacturing capabilities. The Company plans to invest approximately A$72 million over the next three years to build out production capacity, including the commissioning of four state-of-the-art gas atomizers capable of producing over 800 metric tonnes of powder annually.

Executive Commentary

Amaero Chairman and CEO Hank J. Holland said the agreement marked a major milestone for the Company’s growth strategy.

“Our focus is on creating a sustainable, high-quality domestic ecosystem for metal additive manufacturing. This partnership with Velo3D underscores Amaero’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for advanced materials in defence, space, and aviation markets. With major investments already underway, Amaero is positioning itself as a leading supplier of critical powders for high-performance applications,” Mr Holland said.

Velo3D CEO Dr. Arun Jeldi said:

The ability to produce parts using advanced refractory alloys such as C103 is increasingly important as defence and space customers seek components capable of withstanding extreme conditions. Our collaboration with Amaero ensures we can meet this demand with a scalable, high-quality supply of specialised powders.
