SHANGHAI, China--BUSINESS WIRE--

China Eastern Air Logistics launched its South Australia product portfolio at Adelaide Ayers House, Australia, on April 11. A procurement MOU between China Eastern Airlines Cold Chain and Ferguson Australia was signed at the launch ceremony.

Co-hosted by China Eastern Air Logistics and the South Australian Government, the event was attended by distinguished guests including Wang Zhiqing, Chairman of China Eastern Airlines, Hon Don Farrell, Senator for South Australia, Joe Szakacs, Minister for Trade and Investment of South Australia, Wang Hongsun, Acting Chinese Consul General in Adelaide, and Guo Lijun, Chairman of China Eastern Air Logistics.

As a key importer of quality agricultural products and logistics service provider in China, China Eastern Air Logistics has always been an important partner of cooperation of the Australian government and major Australian exporters.

Since 2013, it has been taking Australia as a major source of fresh imports, introducing a wide range of Australian products to China, including salmon, wine, mineral water, Manuka honey, chilled steaks, and cherries. This enables Chinese consumers to savor exotic delicacies without leaving home while helping Australian exporters tap into the Chinese market.

In 2024, upon China’s resumption of imports of rock lobsters from Australia, China Eastern Airlines Cold Chain promptly executed the inaugural shipment.

Leveraging China Eastern Airlines’ aviation network, China Eastern Air Logistics is able to distribute Australian products to 80 percent of China’s consumer population within 12 hours after finishing customs clearance.

With the phased commissioning of salmon processing plants and live seafood holding facilities in Chengdu, Ningbo, Ezhou and other cities, China Eastern Air Logistics will be able to deliver semi-processed products from origin in Australia to retail outlets across China within 48 hours.

In recent years, China Eastern Airlines has actively facilitated business, tourism, and cultural exchanges between China and Australia. In 2024, it carried 817,000 passengers on its routes to and from Australia.

China Eastern Air Logistics will deepen collaboration with Australian partners to transform the China-Australia air route into a vital corridor for shared prosperity.

The co-branded “South Australia Premium Selection, China Eastern Airlines Logistics Fresh Delivery” product mix jointly launched by China Eastern Air Logistics, Ferguson Australia and Penfolds Winery will soon hit the Chinese market.
