CIMIC’s Leighton Asia wins A$165m residential project in India

CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia has been awarded a contract to construct high-rise residential towers in Mumbai, India for Godrej Properties, a major real estate developer.

The project, located in Kandivali East, will generate revenue of approximately A$165 million for Leighton Asia.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaría said: “Large-scale, campus-style residential and commercial projects are a hallmark of Leighton Asia’s work in India and in Asia. Working with one of India’s leading real estate developers, we are pleased to be delivering this project for Mumbai’s growing population.”

Leighton Asia Managing Director Brad Davey said: “Securing this new award highlights Leighton Asia’s expertise in delivering quality work safely and on time. With 26 years’ experience in India, we are committed to meeting our client’s expectations for this premium residential project.”

The 7.2-hectare project comprises six residential towers (44-storeys each) to be delivered across two phases, with a total built up area of approximately 494,000 square metres.

The scope of work includes the construction of the reinforced concrete structures.

This project has targeted an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating certification.

Construction will be completed in Q4 2028.
