Hot Tubs Go Off the Boil in $9M Spa Seizure Sale

One of Australia’s biggest stockpiles of outdoor spas have been sent to a clearance auction at Lloyds with nearly 600 brand new spas from just $1.

In a rare nationwide event, over 500 brand-new, in-crate spas, with a combined retail value exceeding $9 million, having just been published online, with all bidding starting at just $1.

The massive haul of outdoor luxury spas was seized from storage facilities across six warehouses around the country.

The stockpile of spas was released after the spa importer landed in hot water due to unpaid freight and storage bills, leaving facilities within their right to repossess the spas and move to recover costs.

Now, the public has the rare chance to access premium outdoor spas at a fraction of the cost, just in time for the cooler months ahead.

“This is one of the largest spa auction clearances I’ve ever seen in Australia,” said Mr. Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer at Lloyds Auctions. “We’re talking hundreds of high-end outdoor spas, ready to roll straight into Aussie backyards, and some of them could sell for up to 90% below retail.”

The sale includes a wide range of 30 different outdoor spas, from spacious family hot tubs to full-sized swim spas, all brand new, never used, and still in their original crates.

With cost-of-living pressures on the rise, Aussies are looking for ways to create affordable luxury experiences at home and this opportunity presents at a perfect time just before winter.

The online auctions are open now and expected to draw nationwide interest with spas located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Adelaide and Perth facilities.

With bidding now open, interest is heating up fast, the auction is already generating strong demand nationwide. To browse or place a bid on the auction visit lloydsauctions.com.au/major

MEDIA STATEMENT – INSTANT ASSET WRITE OFF

Today’s announcement of an extension to the $20,000 instant asset write-off for tradespeople and small businesses is a welcome step towards greater certainty, but Chartered Accountants ANZ (CA ANZ) said it does not go far enough. CA ANZ has been advocating for small business cash-flow certainty by making the instant asset write-off, and the associated threshold, permanent. Susan Franks, CA ANZ Tax, Superannuation and Financial Services Leader said permanency would reduce red tape for business, government and tax agents. “We included making the instant asset write-off permanent in CA ANZ’s seven policy asks ahead of the 2025 federal election, and…
