Pantera Identifies High-Grade Lithium Drill Targets in U.S. – Drilling Program Set for H2 2025

Jane Morgan Management 2 mins read

Pantera Lithium (ASX:PFE) has identified six high-priority lithium drill targets within its Pantera Lithium Brine Project in Southwest Arkansas, USA, marking a significant step in its transition from explorer to developer. The targets were defined following the completion of a detailed 3D subsurface geological model, underpinned by seismic, well and petrophysical data.

The Company is now planning to commence a high-impact drill program in the second half of 2025 to test these targets and establish a maiden JORC-compliant resource.

Key Highlights

  • Six drill locations identified using porosity, reservoir potential and seismic data.

  • Upcoming drill program to target lithium grades of 225–450 mg/L.

  • Strong commercial validation from neighbouring activity by ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM).

  • Strategic positioning in a rapidly advancing lithium hub in the U.S.

  • Project located in Arkansas, a state known for its supportive business environment.

  • U.S. government incentives add further upside for domestic lithium producers.

Pantera’s acreage sits adjacent to land held by ExxonMobil and Standard Lithium, with recent drilling and development activity by these major players reinforcing the commercial potential of the region.

Executive Chairman and CEO Barnaby Egerton-Warburton said:

With a robust geological model and six high-confidence targets identified, Pantera is positioned to accelerate into its next phase of development. The upcoming drill campaign will aim to unlock significant commercial value as the U.S. doubles down on domestic lithium supply.

Southwest Arkansas is fast becoming a strategic lithium brine corridor. Our project’s scale, grade potential and proximity to major players make it one of the most compelling new brine developments in North America.”

Next Steps

Pantera is now progressing

  • Drilling approvals and well-site agreements;

  • Engagement with potential strategic and funding partners;

  • Rig contracting and logistical preparations for three initial wells.

The Company will use results from the initial drill campaign to inform its JORC resource estimate, expected to further de-risk the project and open the door for broader development and offtake discussions.
