RADIOLOGY LEADER IMAGING ASSOCIATES ACCELERATES GROWTH WITH STRATEGIC ACQUISITION OF DIAGNOSTICARE

Imaging Associates 3 mins read

Radiology group Imaging Associates has announced its recent acquisition of DiagnostiCare, further expanding its network and position as one of Victoria’s fastest growing medical imaging groups.

Imaging Associates’ acquisition of DiagnostiCare will expand its private practice network to 13 clinics across Victoria and New South Wales, enhancing its private and public health services.

DiagnostiCare will continue to operate in Keilor under its well-respected brand, joining Imaging Associates' broader network while maintaining its strong local identity. The Keilor site will be one of eight private radiology clinics within the Imaging Associates group serving the metro Melbourne region.

The strategic acquisition builds on a period of strong growth for Imaging Associates, following several successful new clinic launches — including Rowville and Narre Warren — and signals the group’s intention to further accelerate its expansion across Victoria and New South Wales over the next two years.

The strategic partnership will bring together two highly skilled radiology teams and strengthen Imaging Associates’ commitment to delivering patient-driven, innovative radiology care services in Melbourne, regional Victoria, and Wagga Wagga (NSW).

When speaking about the acquisition, Chairperson Imaging Associates Dr Chris Holden said it marks a significant milestone for the group’s growth and vision.

“DiagnostiCare is a comprehensive radiology practice, well known for their patient-driven approach and will be a great addition to our group of companies. This acquisition is an exciting opportunity to build upon our shared values of quality, care and innovation in medical imaging. Our combined expertise will allow us to further enhance our ability to serve patients and referrers with an even greater depth of services."

“This acquisition will enable patients and referring doctors to access a broader range of radiology specialists, bringing together an expert team with a unified focus on compassionate care, quality outcomes, and unparalleled service. Enhancing our level of service for our clients, referring doctors and medical professionals, as well as the hospitals we support.”

DiagnostiCare Clinical Director Dr Stephen Fasulakis echoed Dr Holden’s comments.

“Imaging Associates has a long-standing reputation for excellence in musculoskeletal, breast, neurological and interventional radiology. I’m excited to add the DiagnostiCare expertise which offers multiple sub-specialty services including paediatric imaging and intervention as well as cardiac imaging,” said Dr Fasulakis.

“The transition will ensure a seamless continuation of care, with patients and referring practitioners continuing to receive the same high standard of service they have come to trust.”

To further expand services and enhance patient outcomes, Imaging Associates will be making significant investments in radiology services, technology innovations and resources over the coming year. This includes strengthening its capabilities across multiple modalities, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and digital X-ray.

Passionate about regional radiology care, the group will continue to place high priority in supporting local education institutions and offering training opportunities to students in regional locations. This initiative is a small part of a wider strategy to demonstrate the power of a patient-first and compassion-driven culture and unlock more career progression paths for radiologists. Leading by example, the doctor-led group have grown to over 250 clinical and operational staff and over 100 radiologists over the last 17 years – with many radiologists also shareholders and key decision makers.

Privately owned and operated by a team of radiologists, the Imaging Associates group includes 12 clinics across Melbourne, regional Victoria, and Wagga Wagga NSW. The patient-first group also provides radiology reporting services to numerous public hospitals across Victoria and NSW. Among its many clinic milestones, its Box Hill clinic recently celebrated its tenth year of operation.
