TerraCom Revises Coal Sales Guidance Following Severe Weather Disruption

TerraCom Limited 2 mins read

ASX-listed mining company TerraCom Limited (ASX:TER) has updated its FY2025 sales guidance for the Blair Athol coal mine in Central Queensland to 1.6 million tonnes, down from the previously forecast 1.8 million tonnes. The revision follows significant rainfall and weather-related disruptions impacting production and logistics throughout the March Quarter.

Despite the challenging conditions, TerraCom has reaffirmed the strength of its operations and cost structure, citing a solid mine plan and steady operating costs.

Danny McCarthy, Managing Director of TerraCom, said:

The March Quarter brought exceptional rainfall, more than 1.5 times the 10-year average, which disrupted more than a third of our operating days. However, the Blair Athol team responded with resilience, achieving strong productivity on available days and deploying new equipment to offset the weather impacts.

A new Hitachi EX3600-7 excavator, commissioned in early March, exceeded productivity expectations and supported output during periods of favourable weather. While rain persisted into early April, McCarthy noted the company is actively implementing cost-effective strategies to recover lost production ahead of the financial year-end.

We remain confident in our ability to meet coal sales targets for the June Quarter. Our low-cost base continues to position TerraCom competitively within the global coal market,” added McCarthy.

Logistics and Operational Highlights

  • March Quarter coal sales: 321kt, bringing YTD sales to 1.04Mt

  • FOB operating costs remain largely unchanged

  • Revised FY25 coal sales forecast: 1.6Mt

  • Severe rainfall caused delays in railing, port access, and stockyard operations

  • In-pit water management strategies deployed to minimise operational impact

TerraCom also confirmed continued progress on its Moorlands Project, with no changes expected to its plan to commence first coal production in 2026. Final documentation with joint venture partner Wintime is underway, and further commercial details will be released in due course.

Titan Minerals extends Dynasty Gold mineralisation by 150 metres as drilling confirms new high-grade zones

Titan Minerals Limited (ASX:TTM) has extended gold and silver mineralisation by a further 150 metres along strike at its 100%-owned Dynasty Gold Project in southern Ecuador, following successful extensional trenching and diamond drilling at the Brecha-Comanche target. The latest results confirm new mineralisation west of the existing Brecha-Comanche resource area, extending from surface and remaining open both laterally and at depth. The new zone sits outside previously defined resources and supports Titan’s strategy of systematically expanding the Dynasty gold system ahead of a planned Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) update in Q1 2026. Significant intercepts from the latest drilling include: CVDD25-170…
