CAMPAIGN FOCUS: South Coast teachers will join NSW Teachers Federation President Henry Rajendra alongside Gilmore MP Fiona Phillips to release alarming new survey data on teacher concerns about the future of education funding.

Teachers will reveal detailed findings from the Federation's extensive statewide survey, with specific insights from South Coast teachers highlighting the critical importance of the historic funding agreement and deep concerns about Peter Dutton's position on public education.

The event will emphasise why protecting the 10-year federal-state agreement to raise public schools to 100% of the Schooling Resource Standard (SRS) is essential for students across the South Coast.

Independents, Greens and other crossbench candidates are pushing the next government to substantially increase income support to tackle the cost-of-living crisis and lift people out of poverty. With a minority government possible after this election, crossbenchers have signed a joint statement with ACOSS and representatives from the community sector declaring that raising the rate is “the most important thing the next government could do to address the cost-of-living crisis”.
