Attic Group celebrates 50 years in the Australian market

Attic Group 2 mins read

Award-winning Australian owned and operated company Attic Group is celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2025. Customers, too, will have reasons to celebrate this year.

From humble beginnings in Chatswood, NSW to a national footprint today, Attic Group's customised storage solutions and attic conversions add valuable space and value for Aussie homeowners.

It all started way back in 1975 as this country's original attic ladder supplier.

"A lot of people hadn’t heard of an attic ladder and we did a lot of marketing and advertising to create awareness," said Attic Group founder, John Stewart.

"I started by doing the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Over the 50 years there have only been three times that we haven't done the show."

Later, as homeowners realised the benefits of 'going up' rather than 'moving out', Attic Group added a host of new offerings, including attic storage and conversions, first-floor additions and skylights.

"Now we're in the building business - we're licensed builders - because people are getting in the roof and they just don't want storage, they want a living area, or a bedroom and bathroom," said Stewart.

Of course, a business must be responsive and credible to flourish over such a long period of time. Attic Group's longevity and peerless reputation is based on a loyal customer base - and a huge one at that.

"We must have transformed over 100,000 homes since we began," said Stewart. "There are competitors now, but we still lead the way and I take immense pride in the number of happy customers."

Attic ladders and conversions remain a niche offering, although more and more people are discovering the potential of their roof space. With the costs of selling, buying and moving properties continuing to soar, transforming the original home has never looked better - and it creates extra value.

To help mark the 50-year anniversary, Attic Group has announced a massive super sale on custom-designed attic and garage storage solutions, as well as attic ladders.

Undoubtedly, Attic Group’s half century is testament to how a niche concept has turned into a long-standing, trusted solution for space-hungry homeowners.

Interest Rate Cuts Offer Strata Sector Opportunity to Strengthen Community Stability and Reinvestment

The recent reduction in interest rates across Australia has created new opportunities for financial relief and reinvestment in strata communities, according to the Strata Community Association (SCA) Australasia. With more than five million Australians living in strata-titled homes, the impact of monetary policy changes on the sector is far-reaching. Lower interest rates are expected to ease mortgage pressures, reduce the likelihood of levy arrears, and provide a chance for owners corporations to refocus on long-term planning and preventative maintenance. “Interest rate reductions bring welcome breathing room for many families and individuals living in strata,” said Joshua Baldwin, President of SCA…
