Cummins Powers the Future of Transport at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show

Cummins Inc. 3 mins read

Cummins is set to make a powerful impression at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, showcasing for the first time in Australia its fully integrated heavy-duty powertrain – a unified system that brings together engine, transmission, axles, and brakes to deliver unmatched performance, efficiency, and uptime.

At the heart of the Cummins exhibit will be the complete powertrain solution, made up of the X15 Euro 6 engine, Eaton Cummins Endurant 18-speed transmission, and Meritor MT21-165GP axle and braking systems.

This system reflects the culmination of years of development and strategic acquisitions – including Meritor and the Eaton Cummins joint venture – and positions Cummins as a full-system provider in the heavy-duty transport space.

“This is the future of powertrain performance on display,” said Sean McLean, Director and General Manager of On-Highway Business for Cummins South Pacific.

“Visitors will see the real-world benefits of an integrated solution—from reduced friction points and simplified serviceability to greater fuel economy.”

“This approach isn’t just about performance—it’s about future-proofing our customers’ investments,” said McLean.

“By combining our deep technical heritage with smart, connected systems, Cummins is helping the industry transition to smarter, cleaner power solutions.”

The Cummins team is excited to bring this world-class powertrain showcase to Brisbane, promising a visual and technical spectacle that will demonstrate the future of heavy transport.

“We can’t wait for the industry to see this come together on stand,” McLean added.

“We believe it is going to be a real highlight of the Show — a demonstration of where Cummins is headed and the incredible technologies we’re bringing to the road.”

While the new X15D engine – delivering 660 hp and 2360 lb-ft of torque – will also feature prominently on stand.

The engine is also 225 kg lighter, a big advantage in cabover applications, providing significantly reduced front axle tare weight.

“Cummins has taken internal combustion to the next level with the X15D,” said Sean McLean.

“It delivers the highest-ever outputs for a Cummins truck engine while setting new standards for fuel efficiency at ultra-low emissions levels.”

“It is proof that combustion engine technology still has room to grow in both performance and sustainability.”

Part of the revolutionary HELM™ platform (Higher Efficiency, Lower Emissions, Multiple Fuels), the X15D shares architecture with future natural gas and hydrogen variants, reinforcing Cummins’ fuel-agnostic approach to decarbonisation.

HELM engines provide a common footprint and installation experience, making it easier for customers to adapt to changing fuel technologies without compromising on power or reliability.

Visitors can also expect to learn about the HELM platform's fuel-agnostic architecture, Meritor’s locally engineered drivetrain solutions, and the Endurant XD Pro transmission’s seamless gear-shifting and precision under pressure.

Outside of the technical showcase, the Cummins stand will feature a dedicated area promoting the company’s award-winning career and apprenticeship pathways, reinforcing its commitment to workforce development and community impact.

Offering the next generation of skilled workers the chance to contribute to one of the most trusted and innovative brands in the commercial transport industry.

“Our people are at the heart of our success,” Tracy Moore, Talent Acquisition Lead Australia, said.

“At Cummins, we are not only powering vehicles—we’re powering careers, communities, and a sustainable future.”

Cummins’ commitment to the future of clean transport is backed by more than a century of innovation and technical excellence.

Cummins will be located at stand 94 at the Brisbane Truck Show from May 15 to 18, 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
