NATIONAL COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE: 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF AUSTRALIAN SERVICE IN THE KOREAN WAR


A national commemorative service will be held in Canberra on Wednesday 25 June 2025, recognising the 75th anniversary of Australian service in the Korean War.

 

This anniversary provides the opportunity to honour and remember the service of all Australian men and women who served in the Korean War, and the support and sacrifice of their families.

WHERE:  The Australian National Korean War Memorial, Anzac Parade, Canberra

DATE:  Wednesday 25 June 2025.

TIME:  Media to arrive by 9.30 am. A pre-service event will take place from 10 am. The national commemorative service will commence at 10.30 am.

 

More than 18,000 Australians served during the Korean War and post-armistice ceasefire monitoring. 340 Australians lost their lives, more than 1,200 were wounded, and 30 were taken prisoner. Of those who lost their lives, 42 have no known grave.

 

There will be a designated media area at the service, with clear line of sight to the ceremony. Please note that due to road closures there will be limited parking available near the commemorative site.
