16 June 2025 – Canberra, Australia | archTIS Limited, a global provider of data-centric software for secure information sharing, has reached a significant milestone in its expansion into the U.S. defence sector, with the award of an initial NC Protect licence contract by a prime government contractor supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Initial contract awarded for licences for 1,000 users, valued at A$38,500.

  • Procurement of NC Protect is expected to expand in the coming months across the broader U.S. DoD, including an initial 150,000 users across the warfighter network.

  • This would represent a 6-fold potential increase in NC Protect’s global user base.

  • Procurement managed by Copper River Technologies, archTIS’ federal partner since 2024.

The initial contract provides NC Protect licences for 1,000 users within the DoD’s Microsoft DoD365 cloud environment. Mr Daniel Lai, archTIS Managing Director and CEO, stated: “This initial award marks a pivotal milestone in our strategy to penetrate and service the U.S. defence market – the largest in the world. By establishing a foothold in this market, we are actively positioning ourselves to capitalise on future opportunities in government and defence. We believe this market will contribute significantly to our overall growth objectives.”

Input cost pressure drives dip in Queensland primary producer confidence

Results at a glance: Rural sentiment eases in Queensland, with high input costs listed as a chief concern. Good seasonal conditions remain the leading cause for positivity among the state’s farmers. Beef producers continue to be the most optimistic sector in the state. Concern around high input costs – including fertiliser, fuel, agrochemicals and labour – have contributed to a dip in Queensland primary producer confidence in the most recent quarter, the latest Rabobank Rural Confidence Survey found. Enough Recalls: The Safety Testing Gap Putting Our Children at Risk

Key Facts: Australia has no blanket requirement for mandatory pre-market safety testing for many children’s products labelled “3+”, unless a specific hazard standard applies (such as button batteries or magnets). Mandatory safety standards primarily apply to toys for children up to and including 36 months, and to products with identified risks such as button batteries or magnets. In 2024–25, the ACCC published 248 product recalls, many involving consumer goods that posed potential hazards to children. Recent recalls have included asbestos-contaminated children’s sand products and popular retail toys recalled due to serious choking risks. Consumer safety advocates and industry experts are…
