Assay Results Confirm High-grade Mineralisation at Oval Cu-Ni Discovery

Asian Battery Metals Plc (ASX: AZ9) 2 mins read

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX: AZ9) is pleased to report further high-grade assay results from its Phase 3 drilling program at the 100%-owned Oval Cu-Ni-PGE discovery in southwest Mongolia, confirming the continuity and scale potential of this emerging magmatic sulphide system.

Highlights include:

  • OVD034 intersected 1.3m @ 4.70% Cu, 3.65% Ni, 1.19g/t E3, 0.12% Co within a broader 34.0m zone of mineralisation.

  • OVD033 confirmed down-dip extensions from standout hole OVD021 with intercepts including 27.7m @ 1.36% Cu, 0.86% Ni, and 6.7m @ 1.17% Cu, 0.96% Ni.

  • OVD032 intersected high-tenor sulphides at depth, including 0.5m @ 1.39% Cu, 1.91% Ni, 0.62g/t E3—potentially pointing to a deeper feeder system.

Managing Director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren commented:

“These latest assays further validate our geological model and reinforce the continuity of high-grade mineralisation at Oval. Since the initial discovery of massive sulphide mineralisation, a total of seven drillholes have now intersected massive sulphides, giving us growing confidence we are onto a strong, high-grade mineral system with scale potential. We remain fully funded for 2025 exploration work to continue our exploration and appraisal of the Cu-Ni system, which is the first of its kind found in the south-west part of Mongolia.”

Downhole and ground-based EM surveys are guiding follow-up drilling, with additional assay results from holes such as OVD036 and OVD040 expected later this month.

Asian Battery Metals remains fully funded to advance exploration in 2025, supported by strong institutional and strategic backing.
