‘Serious’ is the new single from Perth based indie pop artist Charli Rose and is the follow up release to Charli’s celebrated debut EP ‘Letters to Me, Letters to You’, released in 2024. ‘Serious’ is a delightful indie pop track with harmonious vocals that soar, subdued yet purposeful driving guitar, and capturing melodies. It was recorded and produced by renowned engineer Gareth Henderson (Birdy, Sash) at Vocal Tech studios, Lake Coogee, Western Australia.

‘Serious’ is an indie pop song about the conflicting dynamics that can present in someone’s personality and about being consciously aware of looking deeper into behaviour to find alternative meaning.

“I was inspired by someone who wants to be seen and feels the only way to do that is to go to extreme lengths to be noticed. For me it’s important that people accept themselves rather than seek external validation, but also that people be inclusive of others, to make others feel as important as they potentially do and to try to see things from someone else’s perspective.” Charli Rose

The release of ‘Serious’ follows on from several years of accolades for the young singer/songwriter. She was the winner of the WA Junior Country Artist of the year in both 2023 and 2024, as well as a Top 5 finalist for WAM Song of the Year in 2023 for her single ‘Mirrors’ and a finalist again in 2025 for ‘The Last Fairy’ in the 15-18 youth category.

Her song writing has been recognised in the International and Unsigned Only music competitions being a semi-finalist in both competitions for 2024. Charli has also performed at several different venues across Perth as a solo, duet and group artist, including at the Optus Stadium and RAC Arena as part of the One Big Voice Concert pre-entertainment "Young Talent" to an audience of 15,000, and at Symphony under the Stars with the Perth Symphony Orchestra.

Writing songs from the age of 11 years and now 17 years old, Charli writes, records and performs emotional music in hopes to spread meaningful messages to others.

“As an artist I’m inspired through stories of people around me, as well as issues going on in the world, to create lyrics and music which will have a lasting effect on others.”
Charli Rose

Musically her influences include Lizzie McAlpine, Gracie Abrahms, Benson Boone, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.

“Charli has some serious talent…listening to her music the whole way home gave me goosebumps…it’s hard to believe she’s 17!” - Sharon Gilchrist 100.9fm Noongar radio

Charli is building a burgeoning fan base online both locally and globally and will be performing on the 20th of July as part of a Western Australian Music showcase.

Berry NSW strikes a new chord as jazz and blues take over the village

Media release Berry NSW will come alive with live blues and jazz performances across multiple venues on Thursday March 19 and Sunday March 22, as local venues collaborate to create a village-wide atmosphere for the next instalment of the A Day Well Spent live music series. A Day Well Spent forms part of Extend the Weekend, a destination campaign supported by the NSW Government’s UPTOWN Grant Program designed to encourage visitors and locals to stay longer, spread visitation across more days and reduce the town’s reliance on peak holiday periods. Precinct Coordinator Kate Dezarnaulds said the opening weekend in February…
