MSI reimagines portable EV charging with smart, plug-and-play EZgo

Micro-Star International 3 mins read

Global computing powerhouse Micro-Star International (MSI), widely recognised for high-performance gaming and AI systems, brings its legacy of intelligent engineering to the road with the EZgo Portable EV Charger, showcased at the Melbourne EV Show from 27 to 29 June 2025 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

EZgo is more than a charger — it’s a mobile extension of MSI’s technology philosophy: user-centric design, safety assurance, and future-proof engineering,” said Jerry Lu, General Manager, MSI Australia. “It’s built for the modern EV drivers — those who demand intelligent technology that works wherever life takes them.”

Designed for Australia, with Safety at Heart

MSI’s move into EV technology is a natural evolution of its engineering ethos: blending user-focused design, high performance, and uncompromising safety. In a crowded market, EZgo was developed with Australian conditions in mind, combining the highest safety and quality standards with a price point that remains accessible for everyday EV drivers.

It is fully RCM compliant and engineered to handle Australia’s voltage standards, climate, and rugged terrain. The casing is made from UL94-V0 fire-safe materialsthe highest grade for flame resistance — and the unit is IP66 rated, meaning it’s completely waterproof and dustproof for all-weather use. EZgo has also been tested to survive up to 2 tonnes of pressure, so it won’t break even if accidentally run over. And to top it off, it’s backed by USD 5 million in global product liability insurance, offering peace of mind that most consumer EV accessories can’t match.

User-Centric Design Meets Intelligence

EZgo sets itself apart with a bold 1.8-inch LED screen and MSI’s intuitive aConnect app, delivering real-time charging insights and full user control from anywhere. Drivers can schedule off-peak sessions, monitor live charging status, and fine-tune current levels with a few taps on their smartphone.

Designed to be plug-and-play, EZgo requires no installation, setup, or an electrician—just connect and charge. Weighing under 2 kg, it includes a 6.8-metre cable for extended reach and features adjustable current control up to 3.4 kW for flexibility across home, travel, and off-grid environments. Drawing on MSI’s expertise in compact, high-performance systems, EZgo brings the intelligence of a wall-mounted charger into a sleek, mobile form, engineered for those who expect more from their tech on the move.

MSI invites media, partners, and EV enthusiasts to experience the EZgo Portable EV Charger firsthand at the 2025 Melbourne EV Show. The MSI booth will feature interactive demos, live app walkthroughs, and insights into MSI’s forward-looking EV roadmap.
