Outbreaks, Australian CDC, misinformation & climate change on agenda at Adelaide health conference

Media are invited to the Communicable Diseases and Immunisation Conference in Kaurna Country/Adelaide where more than 600 delegates are discussing the latest research into infectious diseases, immunisation, misinformation and disinformation, and the forthcoming Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

Two sessions on Wednesday are devoted to the CDC. One features local and global perspectives including the first five years of the Gulf CDC in Saudi Arabia, and the Australian Government’s COVID-19 response. That’s followed at 12:45pm by three senior departmental officials who’ll give international, national, and jurisdictional perspectives on the new Australian entity.

The event is organised by the Public Health Association, the peak body for public health in Australia. We can supply virtual passes for journalists who can’t attend in person.
