RACV GOLDFIELDS RESORT PRESENTS JESSIE ROSE FORD: THE STUDIO IS EVERYWHERE

RACV 3 mins read

ArtHouse at RACV Goldfields Resort is proud to present "The Studio is Everywhere" - an  exhibition by acclaimed botanical artist and contemporary oil painter Jessie Rose Ford.

This extensive showcase highlights Ford's dual artistic practice: meticulous botanical illustrations that capture intricate natural details alongside her more recent plein air paintings characterised by gestural expression and emotional depth.

Ford's work invites viewers to appreciate what often goes unnoticed in our natural environment. From nasturtiums to banksias, her detailed observations bring the outdoors inside, forming a meaningful connection between artist, plant, and viewer.

As a recognised educator, Ford conducts botanical art workshops across Melbourne, nationally, and online. Her impressive credentials include the prestigious Celia Rosser Medal for Botanical Art and Highly Commended acknowledgments at various Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne exhibitions. Her work has been showcased in exhibitions throughout Australia, and she has participated in international residencies.

The exhibition features over 30 works spanning Ford's career, providing insight into her evolving relationship with botanical subjects and landscape.

RACV Head of Visual Arts Mardi Nowak said Ford's work exemplifies our commitment to showcasing artists who deepen our connection to the natural world.

“Her ability to move between meticulous botanical detail and expressive plein air painting creates a dynamic exhibition that resonates with our spectacular Goldfields setting," Ms Nowak said.

“Now is a great time to check out the exhibition yourself. Book your stay at RACV Goldfields and if you stay three nights or more, you can save up to 40 per cent.”
