Regional Drilling Expanding Footprint of Mineralised Ultramafic Intrusion

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX: AZ9) < 1 mins read

Asian Battery Metals (ASX: AZ9) has reported promising early-stage results from regional scout drilling at its Yambat Project in Mongolia, further supporting the potential for a district-scale copper-nickel system.

Key Highlights:

  • A new ultramafic–gabbroic intrusion with weak sulphide mineralisation has been intersected at MS1, located 6km southeast of the company’s Oval Cu-Ni discovery. A conductive plate identified via downhole EM points to potential lateral and deeper mineralised zones.

  • Drilling at MS2 encountered gabbroic rock visually comparable to un-mineralised zones at Oval, suggesting a structural linkage and potential for mineralisation.

  • The SAMSON ground-based EM survey, currently underway at Oval, will be extended to include MS1 to refine targets and guide follow-up drilling.

Asian Battery Metals Managing Director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren said: “These new regional targets could represent a parallel mineralised trend to Oval, offering multiple potential pipelines for discovery. We will continue EM surveys and plan follow-up drilling to unlock the potential of these targets.”

The update follows recent high-grade assay results from the Oval discovery and comes ahead of several key near-term catalysts, including:

  • Remaining assays from Phase 3 drilling, due later this month

  • First metallurgical test results, expected in July/August

  • Further geophysical surveys at MS1 and MS2 to refine deeper targets
