MEDIA ALERT Reservations Now Open: From Here by Mike

Opening 19 June 2025

From Here by Mike, the highly anticipated nature-led signature restaurant at 1 Hotel Melbourne is now taking reservations ahead of its official opening on 19 June.

Created in partnership with acclaimed chef, Gourmand Award winner and Rockpool alumni Mike McEnearney, the restaurant is a soulful homage to Victoria’s land and produce. Nestled along the Yarra River, From Here by Mike is set to be one of the hottest restaurant openings of the year, offering guests a grounded, generous dining experience rooted in sustainability, simplicity, and seasonality.

Grounded in nature, designed to nourish

With interiors crafted from reclaimed materials and a menu led by ethically sourced, hyper-local produce, the space radiates warmth and quiet elegance, whether lingering over a long lunch, winding down over dinner with a glass of natural wine, or gathering for an elevated Sunday roast — one of Mike’s specialties.

The menu offers vibrant, flavour-forward dishes designed for sharing — think wood-fired flatbread with almond ricotta and shiitake XO, pressed Meredith Farm capretto with saltbush verde, a decadent Vintage "G/aliciana" 5-Year MB3+ rib eye, or the twice-baked goat’s cheese soufflé.

Desserts are nostalgic yet elevated: Mike’s grandmother’s vanilla rice cream is a nod to childhood comforts, while a dark chocolate mousse with Davidson plum and poached quince with saffron custard hint at layered, Australian flavours, true to a menu that’s always seasonal and always thoughtful.

A pour of provenance

The drinks list leans into a curated selection of over 40 Victorian winemakers, complemented by standout Australian and international producers who share a commitment to low-intervention practices. Expect textural whites, elegant reds, and delicate sparkling wines, alongside hyper-local cocktails and small-batch spirits.

“This is more than just a place to eat — it’s a place to feel connected,” says Mike McEnearney. “We want guests to slow down, share a meal, and enjoy food that feels honest and alive. Every detail, from the first course to the last, tells a story of where we are.”
