StoryCloud Secures Pre-Seed Funding as Personalised Edutainment Startup Prepares for App Launch

StoryCloud 2 mins read

StoryCloud, an AI-native children’s media and education startup, has closed its pre-seed funding round and is now rapidly advancing toward the launch of its flagship mobile app in late 2025.

Founded in January 2025, StoryCloud was born from a simple yet urgent mission: to protect and enrich the minds of children during their most formative years. With children spending increasing amounts of time on screens, the need for safe, meaningful, and educational content has never been greater. Yet today’s digital landscape too often prioritises entertainment over enrichment, leaving young minds vulnerable to content that entertains but fails to nurture, or worse, actively harms.

StoryCloud offers stories that children can read, watch, or listen to. Each format is designed to support different learning styles and developmental stages, helping young users process information more deeply and meaningfully. These storytelling modes are more than content delivery, they are intentional tools that activate young minds and foster cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

"Children learn by observing and imitating the world around them. StoryCloud uses storytelling to model kindness, cooperation, and emotional awareness in ways that feel engaging and natural. By drawing on evidence from behavioural science and early childhood development, we’re using stories as a practical tool to support prosocial behaviour and lay the groundwork for positive lifelong habits," said Monisha Sami, founder of StoryCloud.

The concept is simple but powerful: learning and entertainment do not need to compete. StoryCloud merges the two through its unique method of stealth education, keeping children immersed in playful digital experiences that subtly embed essential emotional and social skills.

Backed by a world-class advisory team from Google, Meta, Mozilla, CSIRO, the University of Sydney, and the Australian Federal Police, StoryCloud is building a platform that delivers high-quality, values-led content at scale, combining cutting-edge technology with a deep commitment to child development and wellbeing.

This pre-seed milestone strengthens StoryCloud’s development, content, and operations teams and clears the runway for its official app launch later this year. The mobile app will feature both Kids Mode and Parent Mode, creating a tailored edutainment experience designed to support the whole family.
