Tourism veteran Gray among four board appointees at Reflections Holidays

Reflections Holidays 2 mins read

RESPECTED tourism trailblazer Lyndel Gray – current Chair of Destination Sydney Surrounds South, former CEO of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association and a former Tourism NSW executive director – has been appointed to the board of Reflections Holidays, alongside three other experienced industry leaders.

In addition to Ms Gray, Reflections has appointed to its board former NSW tourism minister Adam Marshall, former shadow NSW minister for Crown Lands Mick Veitch, and reappointed current board member John King OAM, a former chair of Tourism Tasmania.

Reflections is the largest adventure holiday park group in New South Wales and a Crown land manager which operates 41 holiday parks and properties and cares for 47 Crown reserves spanning more than 10,000 hectares in inland and coastal NSW.

It is the only holiday park group in Australia that is a certified social enterprise and is singular in its industry for reinvesting profit back into the parks and reserves in its care.

Reflections Holidays Chair Julie Osborne said:

“I welcome the appointment of these new, and one returning, board members who will be part of a seven-member board contributing to the strategic direction of Reflections Holidays.

“Our new board members bring deep connections in communities across regional NSW where many of our parks are located.

“Along with Sally Barnes, Justin Hales and myself, our board has a wealth of experience that will ensure Crown land holiday parks continue to prosper and visitors can continue to enjoy nature-based holidays in some of the state’s most spectacular coastal and inland dam locations.

Reflections CEO Nick Baker said:

“Lyndel is an active leader and tireless advocate for our industry whose understanding of its challenges and opportunities is unparallelled. Meanwhile, Adam and Mick bring an understanding of regional tourism and business that will be welcome considering our footprint expands to popular destinations in country NSW as well as the coast. We’re also delighted to reappoint John, whose understanding of and enthusiasm for our industry is greatly appreciated.”

Mr Baker said the experience of the four board appointments “aligns well with our strategy to grow the organisation to $140 million in revenue by FY30 which benefits NSW as profit is reinvested into Crown land, assets and communities.”

Mr King and Mr Marshall have been appointed for two-and-a-half years and Ms Gray and Mr Veitch for five years, to ensure continuity with staggered board renewals.
