Victoria Police Goes Live with New Mobile App to Enhance Operational Efficiency

OutSystems 3 mins read

Developed on the OutSystems platform, the new app equips frontline officers with real-time tools to boost accuracy and compliance

Following the project announcement in February 2024, Victoria Police has officially commenced deployment of its new mobile application, powered by OutSystems, a global leader transforming how companies innovate through software. The new mobile application streamlines field operations and improves officer productivity when policing. The app, developed in collaboration with OutSystems partner PhoenixDX, is now actively used by frontline officers to enhance efficiency in issuing electronic penalty infringement notices (ePINs).

The launch of this new technology marks a significant step forward in Victoria Police’s ongoing digital transformation efforts. By leveraging OutSystems application development platform, officers can now complete administrative tasks faster and with greater accuracy, allowing them to focus more on community safety, enhancing time spent on frontline duties rather than administrative tasks.

The new mobile application enables Victoria Police officers to generate and process penalty notices directly from their mobile devices in minutes, significantly reducing paperwork and administrative backlog. The intuitive interface ensures ease of use, enabling officers to issue citations promptly while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.

OutSystems and PhoenixDX, trusted partners of Victoria Police, played a crucial role in developing the solution, ensuring a seamless implementation that meets Victoria Police’s stringent operational and security requirements and resulting in a tailored solution that can scale and adapt to future policing needs.

Paul Arthur, VP for ANZ at OutSystems, highlighted the platform’s benefits, “The ability to rapidly develop and iterate critical applications is what makes OutSystems stand out. With this solution now live, Victoria Police can continuously refine and enhance functionality based on officer feedback, ensuring it remains a vital tool in the field.”

Pedro Carrilho, Managing Director at PhoenixDX, emphasised how working collaboratively empowered delivering a high-quality solution in record time, “It has been a privilege to develop applications that directly support the community and front-line mobility teams. This achievement was only possible through a strong partnership with multiple stakeholders and a deep understanding of sworn officers’ operations in the field. By working as one integrated team and leveraging a Platform & Agile delivery approach, we ensured officers have the tools they need to work more safely and efficiently in the field.”

Future-Ready Policing

The success of this implementation paves the way for further digital innovation within Victoria Police, with plans in place to roll out more applications using the OutSystems application development platform.
