Community Resources Welcomes Patronage of Her Excellency the Governor-General

Community Resources 2 mins read

Community Resources is proud to announce the patronage of Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

This follows the organisation’s inaugural patronage under the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, who served as joint patrons from 2022 to 2024.

The patronage recognises Community Resources’ national social and environmental impact through its social enterprises and community services.

Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, said, “Community Resources plays a vital role in building stronger, more inclusive communities by creating jobs and delivering services that support people and protect the planet. I am pleased to offer my patronage and acknowledge the meaningful impact of their work across Australia.”

Indu Balachandran, Co-Chair of Community Resources, said, “We are honoured to receive the patronage of Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC. Her commitment to social justice, reconciliation and environmental sustainability aligns strongly with the values that guide our work.”

Fellow Co-Chair Katriina Heikkanen said, “This continued connection with the Governor-General’s office affirms the importance of social enterprise and community-led services in creating lasting change. It’s recognition that what we do – and how we do it – matters.”

Patronage from the Governor-General acknowledges organisations making a significant contribution to Australian society. This recognition helps Community Resources amplify its work and advance its mission of creating jobs that care for people and planet.
