Doctors for Nutrition Partners with The Educated Choices Program to Endorse and Expand Health Education Resources.

Doctors For Nutrition 2 mins read

Doctors for Nutrition (DFN), an Australian-based, doctor-led health promotion charity dedicated to advancing whole food plant-based nutrition as a pillar of lifestyle medicine is proud to announce a new partnership with The Educated Choices Program (ECP), a global nonprofit delivering free, science-backed education on the impact of food choices.

As part of this collaboration, DFN formally endorses two of ECP’s most widely used educational packages, which include engaging videos, lesson plans, discussion prompts, and more to promote healthy eating.

  • Healthful Eating – Explores the fundamentals of nutrition, helping students and adults alike understand how a well-balanced diet can help prevent common chronic diseases and improve overall well-being.

  • Eat for Your Health – Introduces younger learners to the basics of healthy eating, so they can identify healthy foods, understand the role of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and create balanced meals for themselves.

Doctors for Nutrition’s seal of approval highlights the credibility of these materials, which rely on the latest science-based data from reputable resources, align with international educational standards, and are already used in thousands of classrooms and community settings in multiple languages around the world. ECP’s education is available at no cost through their digital library at learnecprogram.org and will now include dietitian-approved recipes from DFN.

Together, the Educated Choices Program and Doctors for Nutrition will also co-create a new educational video and resources on Cardiovascular Disease prevention, launching in the Autumn of 2025. This collaborative project will provide audiences with evidence-based information on how nutrition can be used not only to prevent but in some cases reverse cardiovascular disease, the world’s leading cause of death among noncommunicable diseases. The content will reflect both current research from leading health organisations and DFN’s medical expertise in public health and disease prevention.

“Doctors For Nutrition is honoured to partner with the Educated Choices Program. Together, we share a vision for a better world - one built on science-based education about how our food choices impact both our health and the environment. Through this partnership, we are committed to empowering individuals and communities to make informed decisions, thereby helping to create a healthier and more sustainable future for all.” - DFN CEO Rebecca Stonor

“It is an honour to partner with Doctors for Nutrition, an impactful organisation. Together we strengthen our shared mission: to turn science into action and bring evidence-based education to the world, equipping people to make informed choices, promote wellness, and extend health spans. This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to advancing global health through knowledge that is powerful, practical, accessible, and free.” - ECP CEO and Founder Lorena Mucke

This partnership strengthens both organisations’ shared commitment to promoting health literacy and dietary empowerment worldwide.

Universal Health Coverage Day: RACGP calls out need for better funding for chronic conditions and preventive care

Specialist GPs have marked International Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day by joining the World Health Organization in highlighting the devastating impact of health costs. The Royal Australian College of GPs (RACGP) has stressed that a public health system which forces patients with complex or chronic conditions to pay out of pocket for longer consultations can’t claim to offer universal coverage, and urged governments to protect patients from financial hardship. “Health is a human right,” RACGP President Dr Michael Wright said. “Australia recognises the right of everyone to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, and our governments are…
