Interviews available relating to childcare sexual assault charges

Sexual Assault Services Victoria < 1 mins read

Victoria Police has today released details of an investigation into alleged sexual assaults in child care centres.

Sexual Assault Services Victoria is the peak body for the state's 19 specialist sexual assault services. Our services provide free and confidential support to children, young people and their families.

Among other issues, SASVic can discuss:

  • the impact that an informed, specialist response can make on victim survivors’ long-term recovery;
  • the shocking prevalence of such crimes (even if not always on such a scale);
  • the influence of the internet in facilitating child sexual abuse material;
  • the need for significant changes to the Working With Children’s check.

SASVic CEO Kathleen Maltzahn is available to comment via Brett de Hoedt of Hootville Communications 0414 713 802.
