Media Alert: Striking Mudgee Miners to March Demanding Fair Pay

Ulan Underground mineworkers will be marching in Mudgee this Thursday morning, demanding fair pay from their employer Swiss multinational Glencore.

Fed-up MEU miners are continuing action following 16 months of enterprise bargaining negotiations that has failed to secure an acceptable agreement for the workers. The Ulan miners are seeking their pay to be lifted in line with the nearby Ulan West underground mine. Glencore, which owns and operates both mines, is refusing to match the rates.

The mineworkers will be demonstrating their determination to secure a fair deal in a march and rally and are to be joined by supporters from the local community and mining industry.
