QMines Confirms High-Grade Copper-Zinc Mineralisation at Sulphide City with Outstanding Drilling Results

Jane Morgan Management 2 mins read

Brisbane, Australia – QMines Limited (ASX:QML) is pleased to announce the latest high-grade assay results from its maiden Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at the Sulphide City deposit, part of the 100%-owned Develin Creek Project, located 90km northwest of Rockhampton, Queensland.

The initial 27 holes, totalling 5,861 metres, have intersected multiple zones of high-grade copper-zinc mineralisation, confirming both the scale and continuity of the deposit. These results bolster the Company's confidence in the potential for a larger Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) system at Develin Creek.

Drilling Highlights:

  • DCRC050: 9m @ 2.63% Cu, 4.2% Zn, 0.12g/t Au & 5.6g/t Ag from 178m within
    21m @ 1.2% Cu, 2.3% Zn from 167m

  • DCRC048: 6m @ 2.2% Cu, 3.0% Zn, 0.34g/t Au & 36.9g/t Ag from 239m

  • DCRC054: 11m @ 1.6% Cu, 3.2% Zn, 0.15g/t Au & 4.1g/t Ag from 158m within
    54m @ 0.54% Cu, 1.5% Zn from 134m

  • Multiple stacked mineralised zones encountered, with assays pending for an additional 14 drill holes.

RC drilling continues at pace with two rigs on site. A diamond drill rig is also being mobilised to target deeper sulphide zones and provide enhanced structural understanding through diamond core tails.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the drilling program, QMines Executive Chairman, Andrew Sparke, said:

“These early drilling results from Sulphide City are highly encouraging and provide further confidence in the scale and quality of the Develin Creek project. We’re particularly pleased with the continuity and grade of the mineralisation encountered, including multiple thick, high-grade copper-zinc intersections that align with and extend historic results.

Importantly, the presence of stacked mineralised zones and broad intercepts supports our view that Sulphide City may host a much larger VMS system. With drilling continuing and further assay results pending, we look forward to building momentum towards an upgraded resource, informing future mine planning and our broader regional development strategy.”

About Sulphide City & Develin Creek

The Sulphide City deposit is part of the Develin Creek VMS copper-zinc project, which boasts a current Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 4.13Mt @ 1.01% Cu, 1.16% Zn, 0.15g/t Au and 6g/t Ag, with 56% classified as Inferred and 44% as Indicated (March 2025).

The ongoing 8,000m drilling program is designed to validate historic drilling, extend known mineralisation and upgrade the resource confidence category. The geology is characterised by massive and semi-massive sulphides associated with submarine basaltic volcanism, indicative of Besshi and Cyprus-style VMS systems.

Upcoming Catalysts:

  • Additional drilling results from Sulphide City (Q3 2025)

  • Open pit optimisation study for Scorpion deposit (August 2025)

  • Metallurgical testwork across Mt Chalmers and Develin Creek (H2 2025)

  • Standalone Scoping Study integrating Mt Chalmers, Develin Creek & Mt Mackenzie (Q4 2025)

  • Updated Pre-Feasibility Study (H1 2026)

New Woodside CEO Liz Westcott must “steer Woodside away from path of destruction” says Greenpeace CEO

Following the appointment of LizWestcott as Woodside’s new Chief Executive, the following comments can be attributed to David Ritter, Chief Executive of Greenpeace Australia Pacific: “Incoming Woodside CEO Liz Westcott has a unique opportunity to steer Woodside away from the path of climate, environmental and economic destruction set by her predecessor Meg O’Neill, and position Woodside as a true ally to Australia’s clean energy future instead. “One of Liz Westcott’s first orders of business should be to put an end to the most controversial, ill-advised fossil fuel projects in Australia’s history: drilling the Browse basin at Scott Reef for gas,…
