TOKYO, July 4, 2025 /Kyodo JBN/ --
The GRAND CYCLE TOKYO Executive Committee will hold "THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA 2025" on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The elite men's race in the event will be an international bicycle road race (Continental Circuit class 2) certified by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), with 102 riders from 17 teams from Japan and overseas participating.
The race will take place in the Tama area, which has the legacy course of a major international sport event in 2021. The event organizer highly encourages cycling fans to come and see the powerful and fast-paced races of top athletes up close. The women's race and para-cycling will also be held. The event will be broadcast online.
Eight teams from overseas will be competing in the men's race: SOLUTION TECH VINI FANTINI (ITA), TERENGGANU CYCLING TEAM (MYS), ROOJAI INSURANCE (THA), WANTY-NIPPO-RE UZ (BEL), VICTORIA SPORTS PRO CYCLING (PHL), HKSI PRO CYCLING TEAM (HKG), EURO CYCLINGTRIPS-CCN (GUM), and ATOM 6 BIKES - DECCA CONTINENTAL TEAM (AUS).
Of these, the participation of SOLUTION TECH VINI FANTINI (ITA), including Yukiya Arashiro, who is one of the top Japanese cyclists, is particularly noteworthy.
Nine teams from Japan will be competing in the men's race: TEAM BRIDGESTONE CYCLING, JCL TEAM UKYO, KINAN RACING TEAM, MATRIX POWERTAG, Victoire Hiroshima, SHIMANO Racing, VC FUKUOKA, AISAN RACING TEAM, and UTSUNOMIYA BLITZEN.
To meet the growing expectations of cycling fans, "THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA 2025" will be broadcast online.
