With a massive $370,000 prize pool, bespoke saddles, gleaming trophies and bragging rights for life, the Gold Cup is long regarded as the Australian Championship Campdraft.

Last year, Beaudesert’s Kimberley Sammon made history aboard her black stallion, SDP Scott David, becoming just the third woman ever to claim the coveted Cup. In a razor-thin finish – just half a point ahead of Victorian dairy farmer Michael Hiscock on Mewburn Bewick and Queensland’s Steve Comiskey on One Knight Stand – Sammon proved her dominance, also claiming the Ladies Silver Cup. While Kimberley has just welcomed baby boy Tommy and may not ride this year, “Scotty” will be back to fly the flag.
