Luxury Cumberland retirement community launched to market

Community infrastructure investor, developer and operator Pariter has launched its joint venture with Cumberland Country Golf Club to the market, with the retirement living project expected to attract strong sales interest in a high-demand area of Sydney.

The $160 million Cumberland project will be the first of its kind in the south-west of Sydney, delivering a unique golf course location and wellness centre for residents.

It will also deliver a major overhaul of the clubhouse and 18-hole course layout, minimising disruption to current members.

The first 40 homes of the 228-apartment retirement community are now for sale, and will include two and three-bedroom residences, plus larger three-bedroom penthouses.

The luxury wellness facilities will include:

  • Indoor heated pool
  • Fitness centre
  • Salon/Barber
  • Allied health treatment rooms
  • Onsite café with golf course views
  • Alfresco barbecue area

The new clubhouse will be rebuilt over three levels, offering modern facilities, including dining for members and residents.

Pariter CEO, Tom Roche said the sales launch was an exciting milestone.

“This has been a visionary partnership with the Cumberland Country Golf Club, and we believe that the new community that blends active retirement living with green open spaces, and the social hub of the golf club will be attractive to retirees. The Salus brand is perfectly aligned with the Club’s values as it delivers an enriched community with a deep sense of connection through physical and emotional health.”

The project responds to strong and growing demand for retirement living in the region.

Within the site’s primary social locality (800m radius) the 70–84 age group is substantially larger at 13.8% compared to the secondary social locality (7.6% within a 10km site radius) and Greater Sydney (at 8.4%). Greystanes has a particularly high population of older residents, highlighting the strong market need for high-quality, connected retirement living solutions.

Rhys Morgan, who is heading up the sales team on behalf of Salus Cumberland, said it was a unique opportunity for seniors looking for a new, active lifestyle.

“There isn’t a similar residential living option in the region, the offering is unique, and there is a large population of people looking to downsize.”

“Projects that are located on golf courses with expansive green views are in high demand, and one in the heart of Sydney is rare, and we are confident there will be strong interest from buyers.”

“All the foundations for a quality, healthy and connected lifestyle will be available at Salus Cumberland.”

President of Cumberland Country Golf Club Denis Clifford said:

“The sales launch is an important milestone in the process of building a new community for residents and golf members.”

Work is expected to start in the middle of next year, with 190 jobs created during construction and 80 ongoing operational positions.
