Brooke Gibbs, The Music

‘Running Through the Fields’ is an upbeat track with blended folk/rock/pop. The track uses driving acoustic guitar and mandolin for an up-tempo groove with similarities to R.E.M. and a hint of The Lumineers. Playful with unique dynamics and interesting vocal lines, the cross genre and eclectic style of Piperlain is present in the track and draws upon alternative folk/rock/pop and a variety of instrumentation, including acoustic guitar, synth, mandolin, drums, and percussion. Piperlain is redefining genres and reaching diverse audiences globally via their originality and musical expression.

“’Running Through the Fields’ is about looking back at your life as a child but also letting go of your inner child with the transition to adulthood. It’s about ongoing perseverance through life and maintaining inner strength and hope while working hard with determination. Ultimately, it’s about a journey towards legacy and maintaining strength. It’s an upbeat and uplifting folk/pop track that taps into universal themes and possesses the eclectic, unique yet familiar sound that has become a hallmark for Piperlain.”

Rebecca Voorn-Knight.

‘Running Through the Fields’ was recorded at Fireswamp Studios with producer and engineer Josh Schuberth. Josh has collaborated with artists including Josh Pyke, The Wolfe Brothers and Fanny Lumsden. Cover art design by 16-year-old digital artist 'Conny'.
