Blockhead appoints Warrick Hazeldine as Chair to drive global growth of digital gold provenance platform

Chapter One Advisors 2 mins read

Blockhead Technologies Limited (BHT), an Australian technology company pioneering digital trust solutions for the mining and precious metals industries, has expanded its Board with the appointment of capital markets specialist Warrick Hazeldine as Chair. The move comes as the company accelerates the international rollout of its ProvCheck® platform - an innovative, world first solution for tracking gold provenance, authenticity, and carbon footprint from mine to market.

Scaling internationally with ProvCheck®

Developed in collaboration with cornerstone client ABC Refinery, ProvCheck® has already been integrated into the workflows of one of the world’s most respected independent refiners. The platform creates a digital fingerprint for all dore and each gold bar, providing immutable mine to consumer provenance and preventing substitution and tampering, whilst recording the carbon footprint associated with mining, refining, and logistics which is all available to consumers via the ProvCheck mobile application.

The technology is recognised as an LBMA-accredited Security Feature under the Gold Bar Integrity Initiative, cementing its status as a trusted solution for refiners, bullion traders, and institutional buyers.

As global demand for ethical sourcing grows, ProvCheck® enables gold producers and buyers to demonstrate compliance with frameworks such as the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) Responsible Sourcing Program and the OECD guidelines, while strengthening customer trust and unlocking premium pricing for verified gold.

With adoption already underway in Australia, Blockhead is now engaging with international miners, refiners, and institutional investors to bring transparency, traceability, and ESG accountability to the global bullion trade.

Appointment of Warrick Hazeldine as Chair

Mr Hazeldine brings more than 20 years of experience advising ASX-listed companies, predominantly in the natural resources sector, and was a founding partner of Purple Group (formerly Cannings Purple). He also was a founding member of the Gold Industry Group, which continues to raise awareness of gold’s role in the global economy.

He currently serves on the boards of Evion Group (ASX: EVG) and Argent Minerals Limited (ASX: ARD) and is actively involved in Curtin University’s Business and Law School.

Mr Hazeldine said Blockhead is positioned at the right time to capture global momentum in responsible sourcing:

“With the gold price at record highs, the industry must ensure provenance and ESG impact are transparently tracked. ProvCheck provides that capability. Our goal now is to raise awareness across the global gold mining fraternity - miners, refiners and ultimately consumers - that verified provenance is fast becoming a market necessity.”

Driving Blockhead’s next growth phase

Blockhead Co-Founder and CEO Greg Leach said the appointment of Mr Hazeldine as Chair marks the company’s transition into an accelerated growth phase:

“Warrick has built and scaled businesses, understands the resources sector deeply, and brings a global network of investors and industry leaders. His appointment reflects Blockhead’s ambition to establish ProvCheck as the international gold standard in digital provenance and ESG verification.”
